Release Cable - Nissan (65620-1HL0A)

Sedan. Hatchback.

Releases the hood latch mechanism that opens your vehicles hood

Connects the hood release handle to the hood latch mechanism

Replace if your hood release handle is stuck or is not working

The Hood Release Cable on your vehicle links the hood release handle located in the cabin of your Nissan to the hood latch on the front of your vehicle. When the hood release handle is pulled, it pulls on the Hood Release Cable and allows the hood latch to release or pop the hood.

Without the Hood Release Cable, you likely won't be able to open the hood since the hood release handle would have nothing connecting it to the hood latch. Without a functioning Hood Release Cable, you would likely need to open the vehicle's hood from the outside using ways not recommended by Nissan. Opening your hood outside of using the hood release handle may damage the hood latch or other components around the hood latch.

Over time, the Hood Release Cable can wear out or rust, causing it to break or get stuck during operation. The Hood Release Cable likely needs to be replaced if nothing happens when you pull your hood release handle or if you feel excessive resistance when pulling the release handle.

If you need to replace your Hood Release Cable, order a new, genuine replacement Hood Release Cable direct from Nissan Parts. Our replacement parts are custom-fitted, durability-tested, and designed to fit your Nissan model and year.

This Hood Release Cable, part 656201HL0A, fits Nissan Versa 2012-2019.
